Akulap Mobile is far more than just an app – it is a powerful, mobile analysis tool based on the proven technology of our Windows software Akulap. Akulap Web and Mobile: Understanding the Differences

• Akulap Web: Covers simple measurement tasks directly in the browser via JavaScript, requiring no installation, but limited functionality
• Akulap Mobile: A full-featured native application installed via the respective app stores. We currently support Windows and Android, with iPhone support coming soon.

Note (Status March 2026): DIN 45680 / TS 45610 and Psychoacoustics are available in the standard Akulap Windows version. The mobile versions of these features will follow shortly.

Measurement data is stored internally in a database and can be easily exported. An internet connection is only required for export; all measurements can be performed entirely offline.

Our advanced DSP engine is specifically built for use with external USB measurement microphones. You can continue to use your proven Akulap USB measurement microphone seamlessly with Akulap Mobile.

1. RT60 Analysis (Reverberation Time) according to ISO 3382

Supports all methods standardized in ISO 3382 for maximum flexibility:

• Logarithmic Sine Sweeps (Chirp Method): Delivers precise results even at low levels or with small speakers. Signal output via cable or Bluetooth.
• Impulse Method: Fast measurement (e.g., starter pistol or balloon pop).
• Interrupted Noise: Classic analysis of the decay behavior of a noise source.
• Speech Intelligibility (STI) according to IEC 60268-16: Automatic detection of STI and the MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) matrix from the room impulse response – without any additional measurement steps.

2. Sound Level Measurement (SLM)

• Real-Time Analysis: RTA in 1/1 and 1/3 octave bands with A, C, and Z weighting according to IEC 61672.
• Parameters: LAeq, LCeq, LAFmax, LCPeak.
• Time History: Levels over time exported as graphics or CSV/JSON.
• Real-Time Filters.
• Audio Recording: Save as .wav files, optionally as a chain to perform extremely long continuous recordings.
• Calibration: Akulap Mobile allows alignment with any standard sound level calibrator when using an external microphone.

3. Cloud Connectivity and Workflow Optimization

You can export your measurement data directly from Akulap Mobile and transfer it to external web applications, such as the RAP (Room Acoustics Planner) by Fuchs Raumingeniuere. Hardware Recommendations

1. Sound Sources (Speakers): While the smartphone can be used for simple checks, professional measurements require external Bluetooth speakers or – for standards-compliant requirements – an omnidirectional dodecahedron speaker.
2. Microphones: For basic RT60 measurements, the internal microphone often yields respectable results. However, for precise level measurements, USB measurement microphones are required. Compatibility extends to the high-end reference device MV240 from Microtech Gefell, which sets new standards with a dynamic range of 6.5 dBA up to 160 dB (depending on the capsule).

Availability & Licensing

Download Akulap Mobile directly from the Google Play Store (iPhone version following shortly).

• Licensing: Requires a valid Akulap license (version 2026 or later). We offer attractive upgrade terms for users of older versions.
• Demo Mode: Without a login, the app functions only as a demonstrator and is restricted to a frequency range of 400 Hz to 2 kHz.
• Languages: Akulap Mobile is currently available in English. German-language tutorials will soon be available on YouTube.
